[ That shift in Ihxi'wo's expression has his own smile widening, beaming at his friend even as his own eyes sting and burn with emotion. When he leans in to press his forehead against G'raha's own, his hand comes up, resting against Ihxi'wo's cheek. Warm flesh instead of hardened crystal. That feels strange in itself, after so long. But a good kind of strange.

When he speaks again, his voice is raw and thick with choked back emotions, content to remain there, heads pressed together, for as long as he can. This one perfect moment. An impossible moment. A miracle. ]

I'm sorry for keeping you waiting.

[ the warm hand on his face sends another jolt of realization through him, and he's not sure if the sound that escapes him in response is more of a laugh or a cry. his own hands rise up- one to the back of g'raha's head, and the other over his hand on his face, holding on as tightly as he wants to hold onto this feeling and moment. he waits for the other to speak and break the amazed silence before he does so himself, his happiness tinged with a hint of apology. ]

I think... I still have you beat, on that count.

[ because as much as ihxi'wo had been waiting, perhaps without even fully knowing it, for g'raha over the years... it didn't compare to all the time g'raha had spent waiting for him: over a hundred years. it's hard to get words out, still, but he continues on anyway. ]

Do you remember... what you asked of me? Back in the First, I mean.

[ He can't help but laugh along with Ihxi'wo, relief and disbelief and just... pure joy welling up so heatedly within him that it leaves him breathless.

He can't believe this is real. That his wild plan worked. That he is here. ]

Ihxi'wo, I seem to recall asking a great deal of you...

[ another laugh, as the joy spreads back and forth between them, growing each time. ]

Well, I'm not talking about the time you asked me to invade a lonely Nu Mou's home with you. [ although, actually- in a manner of speaking, he is. ihxi'wo finally (albeit reluctantly) leans his head back a small amount so he can open his eyes and better take in the sight before him- the sight which only makes his heart leap higher the longer he sees it. ]

You asked me... to take you on a journey. Together. [ the adventure itself, while important, was not the main point here however. ] "Together" means no more waiting for each other... Alright?

[ There's a faint redness sliding over his cheeks as Ihxi'wo pulls back, holds his gaze. He meets it, searching over the other male's face, as if seeking the truth that everything is just as it should be. That he is truly awake and not dreaming.

But those words have his gaze dropping again, a hopeful smile tugging at his lips. Shy, nervous... it's so hard to believe this could be true. his old dream, at long last. ]
